Dell has announced new Dell EqualLogic and Dell PowerVault storage platforms.
Dell’s offerings now include the EqualLogic PS6000XVS and PS6010XVS and the PowerVault MD3200 and MD3200i storage arrays.
Dell and Microsoft have announced the availability and support of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 on Dell’s complete line of 64-bit PowerEdge servers and PowerVault, EqualLogic and Dell|EMC storage solutions.
The companies say that with Dell and SQL Server 2008 R2 solutions IT organizations can centrally manage critical, company-wide data assets in a secure manner.
Dell has introduced the PowerVault DL2100 Powered by Symantec Backup Exec 2010, a disk-based backup and recovery solution with available deduplication technology in a single server.
The PowerVault DL2100 comes factory-installed with Symantec Backup Exec 2010 software and a wizard driven set up and management utility. The backup software comes with integrated automated dynamic disk provisioning that configures and sets up the disks. Additionally, the PowerVault DL2100 with Backup Exec 2010 Deduplication Option supports a data-reduction strategy by optimizing storage and network bandwidth.
Dell has launched the PowerVault MD1200 and PowerVault MD1220 direct attached storage.
The MD1200 and MD1220 are designed for 6Gb/s SAS environments and Dell PowerEdge servers with the new PERC H800 HostRAID adapter.
