Dell PowerEdge T110 Server

The Dell PowerEdge T110 is a new affordable tower server, featuring a single Intel Xeon 3400 series processor, the Intel 3420 chipset, up to 16GB of unbuffered DDR3 memory, up to four non-hot plug 3.5″ SATA or SAS hard drives for a maximum 4TB of storage capacity, and a “compact and quiet office-friendly chassis”.

The PowerEdge T110 has an onboard SATA controller without RAID functionality, but there’s a variety of optional SAS/SATA storage controllers supporting up to RAID 10, as well as additional host bus adapters for connection to other storage devices. The basic network adapter is an embedded dual Gigabit Ethernet NIC, which can be accompanied by various single- and dual-port Gigabit cards. For server management, the T110 includes a baseboard controller.

The Dell PowerEdge T310 is the company’s latest single-socket tower server.

Along with a single Intel Xeon 3400 Series quad-core CPU, the Intel 3420 chipset-based PowerEdge T310 includes up to 32GB of registered (RDIMM) or up to 8GB of unregistered (UDIMM) DDR3 memory, and up to four 3.5″ cabled or hot-swap SAS or SATA hard drives for a maximum of 4TB of internal storage.

Dell PowerEdge T710 Server

The Dell PowerEdge T710 is the company’s new dual-socket tower server.

The virtualization oriented T710 is based on the Intel 5520 chipset and supports up to two quad-core or dual-core Intel Xeon 5500 series processors. It has 18 DIMM slots for up to 144GB of ECC DDR3 memory and supports 16 2.5-inch or 8 3.5-inch hot-plug hard drives, depending on customer’s choice. The 5U chassis, mountable in 19″ racks, also includes two media bays for optical drives or tape backup units, and optional redundant power supply.
