Dell has released Dell KACE Secure Browser, a product that can keep malware locked into a browser, rather than infecting the whole OS. The Dell KACE Secure Browser provides a virtualized version of Mozilla’s Firefox onto a machine.

“While many endpoint security solutions focus on detection and clean up of security breaches, Dell KACE Secure Browser aims to proactively contain threats before they become a problem. The new technology provides users with a virtual instance of an Internet browser application. By running the browser in a virtual instance, the browser and any activity resulting from its use are separated from the endpoint keeping the actual computer and operating system free of changes that would normally occur. Fully contained from the operating system, any such changes made via browser activity are not only kept separated, but may also be quickly cleared with a single click. For even more security and control, optional white and black list entries may be used to limit what sites a user may visit and what applications the browser is permitted to launch,” the press release says.

Dell has released the Dell 1133 multifunction monochrome laser printer.

Priced at $149, it’s Dells cheapest multifunction laser printer and has a cost-per-page (CPP) of 3.5 cents. The 1133 has a print and copy speed up to 23 pages-per-minute (PPM) (Letter) and 22ppm (A4), the capability of handling up to 12K pages per month, a resolution of 1200dpi, and a 250-sheet paper input tray.

Dell has announced the 21.5-inch UltraSharp U2211H and U2311H 23-inch flat panel monitors with in-plane switching technology (IPS) and full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Designed for photographers and other professionals, the U2211H and U2311H deliver 16.7-million color depth, 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and 178 degrees horizontal and vertical viewing angles. The response time is 8ms.

Dell has released Latitude 2110, a 10.1-inch netbook for business users with the Intel Atom CPU and optional touch-screen.

The Latitude 2110 includes the Atom N470 1.83GHz processor with the GMA integrated graphics, up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 16GB or 64GB solid state drive or a up to 250GB HDD, a 3- or 6-cell battery, and Windows 7, Vista, or Ubuntu Linux OS.

The Dell Latitude E4310 thin and light 13.3-inch laptop for business users is coming soon, according to the PC maker’s website.

The 1.1-inch thin 3.4-pound E4310 includes the Intel Core i5 CPU, Intel HD integrated GPU, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB HDD or up to 256GB SSD, DVD burner or Blu-ray drive, a 3- or 6-cell battery, a 1366×768 anti-glare LED display, Wi-Fi, optional WiMAX and mobile broadband, a 2MP webcam, a fingerprint reader and two USB ports.

The Planet server & hosting provider has announced addition of the Dell PowerEdge R710 server with the new Intel Xeon X5600 “Westmere” series processor to the company’s fleet.

“Built with six cores, the new 32 nanometer processor operates at speeds up to 2.80GHz, with 12MB of cache, a 1333MHz memory bus, and enabled with turbo- and hyper-threading,” the press release says.

Dell has introduced the PowerVault DL2100 Powered by Symantec Backup Exec 2010, a disk-based backup and recovery solution with available deduplication technology in a single server.

The PowerVault DL2100 comes factory-installed with Symantec Backup Exec 2010 software and a wizard driven set up and management utility. The backup software comes with integrated automated dynamic disk provisioning that configures and sets up the disks. Dell has posted a video overview of the Dell PowerEdge R510, a new 2-socket 2U multi-purpose rack server with the option of having 12 hot-plug hard drives. It supports Intel Nehalem processors.

Dell has launched the PowerVault MD1200 and PowerVault MD1220 direct attached storage.

The MD1200 and MD1220 are designed for 6Gb/s SAS environments and Dell PowerEdge servers with the new PERC H800 HostRAID adapter.
