Mitel adds BlackBerry to Mobile Offering

Mitel is now offering BlackBerry smartphones as part of the Mitel Mobile service for U.S. based corporate customers through Mitel NetSolutions. Companies can choose from the BlackBerry Curve 8530 or BlackBerry Bold 9650 smartphones. Mitel will also offer BlackBerry Enterprise Server licenses. Mitel Mobile offers voice and high-speed data services to corporate customers and with BlackBerry smartphones users of the Mitel Mobile service can connect to and operate Mitel’s suite of UC applications, including the Mitel Unified Communicator Advanced mobile client.

BlackBerry Bold 9650, Pearl 3G Smartphones Announced

BlackBerry Bold 9650Research In Motion (RIM) has announced the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and BlackBerry Pearl 3G smartphones.

The Bold 9650 premium-class smartphone supports 3G (EVDO) networks in North America and (HSPA/UMTS) abroad and has a full-QWERTY keyboard, a 2.44-inch display, and built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. On the other side, the Pearl 3G is “the smallest BlackBerry smartphone yet” measuring 4.25″ x 1.96″ x 0.52″ and weighing only 3.3 oz. It supports 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) networks and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and will be available in two models: the 9100 model with a 20-key condensed QWERTY keyboard and the 9105 with a 14-key traditional phone keyboard.

The Blackberry smartphone maker Research In Motion (RIM) has announced the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express (BESX), a free version of BES.

BES Express is aimed at small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). It provides BlackBerry email, calendar, contacts, notes and tasks syncing services and basic BES security.

BlackBerry Clients for IBM Lotus QuickrIBM and RIM today announced new social networking applications for BlackBerry smartphones – the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr and a new version of the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Connections.

The BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Connections offers enterprise social networking capabilities for people-based collaboration, while the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Quickr is document-based collaboration software.

Vonage World Mobile – Unlimited International Calls for Cell Phone Users

Vonage has announced the Vonage World Mobile calling plan, providing cell phone users with unlimited international calls to over 60 countries for a flat monthly rate.

“Users of the iPhone, BlackBerry and iPod touch can subscribe to Vonage World Mobile and get access to unlimited international calling to more than 60 countries across the world. The service works on cellular or Wi-Fi using the customer’s existing contacts and cellular phone number,” Vonage’s press release says.
