Apple iPhone 4Apple has released the iPhone 4, the latest version of the company’s popular smartphone.

The new iPhone includes the new iOS 4 operating system with multitasking support, a 3.5″ Multi-Touch display at 960-by-640 pixels, support for UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz), GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz), and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Assisted GPS, a 5MP camera with 720p video recording capability, 16GB or 32GB flash drive, Apple’s A4 processor, and an all-new design.

Equinux TARMAC iPhone / iPad Provisioning Tool Announced

TARMACEquinux has unveiled TARMAC iPhone and iPad provisioning tool for deploying personalized configuration profiles over-the-air in businesses.

“TARMAC connects with existing directory services on a company’s network and automatically creates personalized configuration profiles for iPhone and iPad users. With the TARMAC web interface, users with no technical knowledge can set up their work email, contacts and calendars as well as receiving personalized security settings based on their role in the company. To install a profile on their iPhone or iPad themselves, users simply log in to the TARMAC web interface and follow a few simple steps,” the press release says.

Toktumi Line2 v 2.0 iPhone VoIP App Released

Toktumi, a small business phone services provider, has announced that the VoIP-enabled version of its calling app Line2, Version 2.0, has been approved by Apple and is now available for download on iTunes.

The Line2, which adds a second number to the iPhone, is now “the first iPhone calling app that works over 3G, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks using the same number.”

iWork for iPadApple has released the iPad, an iPhone OS-based multi-touch tablet device with a 9.7-inch display.

The device is primarily designed for web surfing, multimedia, gaming, and e-book reading. For business use, it could be interesting that it also runs iWork for iPad, the “first desktop-class productivity suite designed specifically for Multi-Touch.”

Apple has launched recently their Mac Mini small form factor computer with Snow Leopard Server OS pre-installed.

Designed to be an energy efficient server for a small business or group, the Mac Mini with Snow Leopard Server features two 500GB 5,400rpm hard drives, a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics. The Mac Mini server edition doesn’t include the slot loading SuperDrive DVD burner, which is present in the standard single-HDD Mini models.
