Intel Xeon 5600 Processor Series Released

Intel Corporation today launched the Intel Xeon Processor 5600 series with up to 6 CPU cores.
The new server & workstation CPUs are based on 32nm production process. Intel says the quad-core version of the Xeon 5600 series peaks at 3.46 GHz with a TDP of 130 watts, while the six-core chip reaches 3.33 GHz with a TDP of 130 watts.
Intel’s Xeon 5600 deliver Turbo Boost Technology, Hyper-Threading and improved Intel Virtualization Technology, as well as two new security features: Intel Advanced Encryption Standard New Instructions (Intel AES-NI), and Intel Trusted Execution Technology (Intel TXT).
The Intel Xeon processor 5600 series ranges from $387 to $1,663 in quantities of 1,000.
