The HP ProCurve 1400-8G J9077A#ABA is an unmanaged switch, featuring 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
As an unamanaged Layer 2 network device, the 1400-8G prevents data collisions among devices that communicate through its ports. It’s plug-and-play and has no configuration interface or options.
HP’s 1400-8G has 128MB of RAM/ROM memory, a packet buffer size of 144KB, a MAC address table of up to 8000 entries, a switching capacity of 16Gbps, up to 11.9 million pps throughput, a latency of < 3.9 μs (100Mb, 64-byte packets), < 2.1 μs (1000Mb, 64-byte packets), and a power consumption of 18W. It supports auto MDI/MDI-X to automatically adjust for straight-through or crossover cables on all ports, Jumbo packets to improve performance of large data transfers, as well as IEEE 802.1p prioritization, delivering data to devices by honoring the priority and type of traffic.
The switch provides silent operation via a fanless design, while its small form factor (4.58×7.73×1.73 in.) makes it ideal for desktop use. The device, however, can be mounted horizontally only. Another feature is its LED display with per-port indicators.
