HP today announced the HP Slate 2 Tablet PC with expanded touch capabilities, enhanced multitasking performance and embedded security, providing added flexibility to mobile business users.

Research in Motion (RIM) has officially introduced a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet with a 7-inch multi-touch capacitive display and new QNX-based BlackBerry Tablet OS. Lenovo has announced the new ThinkPad X201 and X201s ultraportable laptops, and the X201 multitouch tablet PC, all with the 12.1-inch displays, as well as the 17-inch W701 and W701ds mobile workstations. The new mobile computers, aimed at business users, are based on the latest 2010 Intel Core i processor family.

Apple has released the iPad, an iPhone OS-based multi-touch tablet device with a 9.7-inch display. The device is primarily designed for web surfing, multimedia, gaming, and e-book reading. For business use, it could be interesting that it also runs iWork for iPad, the “first desktop-class productivity suite designed specifically for Multi-Touch.”
