BlackBerry Bold 9650, Pearl 3G Smartphones Announced

BlackBerry Bold 9650Research In Motion (RIM) has announced the BlackBerry Bold 9650 and BlackBerry Pearl 3G smartphones.

The Bold 9650 premium-class smartphone supports 3G (EVDO) networks in North America and (HSPA/UMTS) abroad and has a full-QWERTY keyboard, a 2.44-inch display, and built-in Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. On the other side, the Pearl 3G is “the smallest BlackBerry smartphone yet” measuring 4.25″ x 1.96″ x 0.52″ and weighing only 3.3 oz. It supports 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) networks and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and will be available in two models: the 9100 model with a 20-key condensed QWERTY keyboard and the 9105 with a 14-key traditional phone keyboard.

Both phones feature GPS, optical trackpads, and 3.2MP web cameras.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 and Pearl 3G are expected to be available from carriers in the United States beginning in May.
